Eco2Solar Ltd installed the solar PV system on a project which was recently voted “Sustainable Project of the Year” at the Construction News Awards, 2015.
A 30kWp PV array was installed to the highly decorated WPD Spilsby project delivered by Speller Metcalfe, who also won “Contractor of the Year” at the same awards.
Utilising our engineering expertise and working closely with the consultants, Eco2Solar’s PV system was a contributing factor towards the project being awarded a BREEAM Outstanding rating of 101.9%, making it the world’s highest rated BREEAM project at the time.
The high efficiency panels were selected to minimise the area required on the roof, with fixings riveted to the Kingpsan roof membrane.
SMA inverters were selected by the client, with a sophisticated web monitoring portal that allowed WPD to view the performance of the PV array remotely, with automated reporting and messaging facilities set up.
A large reception TV display was installed to promote and educate the staff and visitors to the centre on WPD’s highly sustainable building, together with a live feed showing the Co2 savings and power being generated by the PV system.
