Eco2Solar have officially installed the most solar PV installations from Solar Trade Association (STA) members this year, according to the Association’s 2020 Impact Report – a fantastic achievement in a year that hasn’t exactly gone to plan!
The Solar Trade Association is the leading specialist group for solar and energy storage in the UK and this year marks their first Annual Impact Review, which they will publish every year moving forward.
The report lists Eco2Solar as the organisation that has made the most solar PV installations in the UK this year. As we now approach the end of 2020, we are proud to have installed 18,000 solar systems in total nationwide since our inception.
The report also summarises the achievements made in the solar sector this year – in the rooftop market, commercial installers are delivering ever-larger projects and installation rates have now bounced back to pre-pandemic levels. In May, solar contribution to UK electricity supply peaked at over 30%, creating a record of 11% of all UK electricity coming from solar.
These figures mean we’re on track for the goal of 40GW of solar in the UK by 2030. 2021 is set to be a positive year for solar. In the residential market, the new building regulations could underpin a significant period of growth. Corporate and public sector energy buyers are helping to drive progress, and 2021 will also see the first solar CfD auction for six years, with the promise of more to come. This will help stimulate the development of subsidy-free solar parks.
We are proud to be part of the nationwide and global efforts to create a more sustainable future and can’t wait to get working toward more exciting goals in the New Year.
