Green Energy is Just What the Doctor Ordered
Eco2Solar has recently won a £180,000 contract; to install solar photovoltaic (PV) panels on the roofs of two local hospitals. We are pleased to announce that we have been appointed to install the low carbon energy systems at Stratford-Upon-Avon and Warwick hospitals, by recently formed energy co-operative, Community Energy Warwickshire.
The scheme, organised by people living in Warwickshire, with a passion for green energy, has been described by Energy Minister, Greg Barker, as: “Exactly the kind of project, delivered through exactly the kind of partnership, which we need to see more of.”
The contract will see 20 kilowatts of solar power being installed at Stratford Hospital, and 50 kilowatts at Warwick Hospital. Community Energy Warwickshire plans to start work with a small-scale pilot installation at Warwick Hospital in September, with the remaining solar panels to be installed by the end of March 2012.
Keith Sinfield, chair of Community Energy Warwickshire, said: “We are delighted to be working with Eco2Solar on this project. Following a detailed review of the proposals put forward by firms invited to tender, we concluded that Eco2Solar offered the right balance of cost-effectiveness and appropriate experience for this innovative scheme.”
Our managing director is also very enthusiastic about the project, which he describes as a “High profile and prestigious project which we are honoured to be involved in. Even more importantly, this is an opportunity to work with the members of Community Energy Warwickshire, a group of people who want to make a difference in their area, by helping local people reduce their use of energy and save money at the same time.”
