What personal data we collect and why we collect it
We collect data for both prospective customers and customers who have purchased good and services from us. We hold and process data differently for both types of customer.
Prospective Customers:- Where we think there maybe mutual benefit in discussing your requirements and our services we will hold your contact details which may include name, email address, company information, role and phone number. We do this to be able serve you in the best possible way in the future.
Current and past Customers:- Where we have supplied goods and services we will retain contact details together with information relating to the goods and services provided together with billing information. We hold this data for support, warranty and recall purposes and to provide information of future services where customer preferences do not preclude this.
We also hold data on Suppliers and Current and Past Employees.
Suppliers:- We hold supplier information to be able to purchase goods and services from them and also to maintain records of purchase history and purchase transactions. This will include contact details such as name, email address, company information, role and phone number. Together with product information, payment details and product data.
Current and Past Employees:- So that we can process work records and payments together with employee development and references we hold personal data such as names and addresses, bank details, performance reviews and reference data.
Web Site
Our Web site is primarily an information site that does not contain or process personal data. we do however have a contact form and use cookies for website performance and tuning.
Contact forms
Our contact form collects name, email, company and interest data, and will also collect your contact preferences. This data is fed into our email and CRM systems to allow us to process your contact request.

Our Sites uses cookies to distinguish you from other users of our Sites. This helps us to provide you with a good experience when you browse our Sites and also allows us to improve our Sites. Performance cookies, We use google Analytics cookie _ga on this web site. These cookies allow us measure how visitors use our website, which pages are popular, and what our traffic sources are. Who we share your data with
Other than where processing transactions related to goods and services i.e payment or device registration, or for legal requirements we do not share customer data with 3rd parties and will never sell your details to another company, unless part of an asset transfer or company sale.
Employee data is shared with Ormerod Rutter Accountants (for payroll and tax purposes) and Royal London for the pension scheme.
MCS Certificates, DNO Notifications and Building Control Notices are raised by address only,.(although we are required to hold related Customer and project details for 10 years)
How long we retain your data
Personal data that we process for any purpose or purposes shall not be kept for longer than is necessary for that purpose or those purposes.
Where there is a legal requirement to retain data, i.e. Tax we will retain that data for the legally required period.
We will also retain data where the are potential warranty and recall or insurance implications for the period deemed necessary for those actions.
Data Security
We take the security of your personal data seriously and access to all of our data is restricted using usernames and passwords and we use industry standard security on our servers. Where we use wifi, vpn or hosted services our data is encrypted. For paper based records we use physical security measures.
What rights you have over your data
If we hold any of your data on our web site or in our CRM and internal systems you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us.
You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

As a company we do not have, and are not required to have a data protection officer, but we do have a team trained to help with any data protection query. The GDPR regulations are new and as such guidance is changing regularly. As a responsible company we are constantly reviewing our policy.
