Solar Energy Installation Supports Acorns Children’s Hospice
On 10th May 2013, Eco2Solar proudly installed a 1.9kWp solar PV system on this Midlands property; an installation which raised over £2,000 for Acorns Children’s Hospice . The solar PV system was kindly donated as a raffle prize, in aid of Acorn’s, at the Barratt Homes’ 2013 Sportsman’s Dinner and was won by attendee Mr Tibbetts. Alongside the donation of the PV system, SDA Scaffolding has also kindly provided the scaffolding for the installation at 50% of the quoted cost.
The 1.9kWp solar PV installation, on the front roof pitch of the property, comprises ten Jinko 190watt panels, alongside one SMA Sunnyboy SB1700 inverter and is expected to produce 1,515kWh of renewable energy for the property each year. This renewable energy contribution will reduce the energy bills of the home by approximately 40% and provide them with over £380 in an annual savings and returns, assuming that half of the energy is used in the property. Alongside the money savings provided by the installation, the solar system will also save over 790kg of carbon each year.
Eco2Solar are delighted to continue to support Acorn’s as our charity of the year and have already raised £4,500 towards our £5,000 annual target for the charity through; donating £10 for each solar PV installation completed over the year, donating to Acorns instead of sending our Christmas cards and donating funds from our ‘Making Sense of Green Energy Day’ . Team members also took part in Acorns’ Santa run and are planning on completing the ‘Free Radio Worcestershire Walk for Kids’ this summer.
