3kWp Solar PV System: Martley Village Hall, Worcestershire
In August 2013, Eco2Solar installed a 3kWp solar PV system on the side roof pitch of Martley Village Hall, Worcestershire. We installed this solar system free of charge, with local councillor Phil Grove kindly providing a £750 grant to the village Hall to allow them to upgrade the system from 2kWp to 3kWp.
Local resident and managing director Paul Hutchens took the opportunity to contribute the system to the local community, bringing villagers access to a reliable energy source into the future.
The solar PV system includes twelve REC 240watt panels, alongside one Samil 3000TL inverter and is expected to produce 2,392kWh of renewable energy for the village hall each year. This renewable energy contribution will reduce the running costs of the building, whilst providing them with an annual return of approximately £356 and saving over 1,200kg of carbon each year.
Martley Village Hall commented on the installation: “We’re extremely grateful to Paul and the Eco2Solar team for their generous contribution. We’re looking forward to making savings which will help fund other community activities and keep us financially secure.”
Paul added: “We were delighted to help Martley Village Hall make a saving on its electricity bills.
“Village halls are such an important part of our local community. With relatively large roof areas, they are ideal for solar power and by going green it means running costs are significantly reduced.”
